When you come to the office for your appointment, our receptionist will greet you and provide you with the necessary paperwork to fill out. After you are finished, Dr. Lauren Hedrix will meet you in the exam room, where she will take a thorough history of your health, current and past injuries, illnesses, and other medical conditions in order to understand your unique and complex medical situation. She will also discuss your individual health goals with you at this time.
Following the history portion of the visit, a physical examination will be performed. It will include orthopedic and neurological testing, a posture analysis, and a careful spinal examination to detect any abnormalities that may be contributing to or causing your condition. All of these elements are crucial in understanding the root cause of your condition and evaluating your health status.
Following the examination, Dr. Hedrix will take some time to put together all the information she has gathered to analyze and understand your unique health condition. If x-rays are required, Dr. Hedrix will discuss the need for x-rays with you beforehand and will conveniently take x-rays of the necessary area(s) in the office.
She will let you know when to make your next appointment, usually the next day. In the second appointment, Dr. Hedrix will discuss her findings with you, as well as go through her proposed treatment plan that she will have tailored to you individually, based on your current conditions and health goals.
